Many forms of off-road ATV racing put physical demands on aluminum skid plates that can destroy a plate in a fraction of the time that a recreational rider will, however running through rough desert terrain wide open for hours on end over terrain that can seem smooth to the naked eye only to hide monster boulders underneath, gives us not only great feedback to the strength of our skid plates but also potential areas on a skid plate that can catch on rocks and fling a rider over the bars like a rag doll shot out of a sling shot. Manufacturing unbeatable skid plates that perform and last well is a large part of the reason we put so much time and effort into the development of our products, but the often overlooked benefit is the safety of the riders on the ATV as well as the ATV itself.
PRM Products has racers test our skid plates in the unforgiving deserts of Mexico, Arizona and Nevada for this simple reason. This is considered by many to be some of the harshest racing terrain there is because of the vastness of it as well as the incredible speeds in which racers have to negotiate it.
What does this mean for you? ... PRM Products, unlike some of our competitors, put all of our improvements that are made to skid plates, bumpers, and other products for racers directly into our production products so you get the exact same products that bring racers to the finish line. Not a more cost effective version! We have heard of many contracted racers running and paying for our skid plates with no stickers or advertising on them when they could have other brands for FREE. WHY? It is quite simple ...

IF YOU DON'T FINISH, YOU CAN'T WIN!

TRX700XX
Baja 1000 winner Wayne Matlock provides us tremendous input on Honda's new TRX700XX independent suspended monster that has a tendency to slam the rear of the frame often in the rough stuff. Thanks to this research we have updated the frame plate 3 times over the last year to it's current version of the one piece full coverage frame plate as well as improvements to many other products.

TRX450R
Jeff Hancock from Hancock Racing is working with us to continue improving our bullet proof skid plates for the ever popular race machine ... the TRX450R. We have been able to fine tune the swingarm plate to all but eliminate the leading edge of the linkage coverage box to minimize hang-ups & further protect the rider and ATV Another race developed product is the Freestyle plate that eliminates the linkage protection and extends the opening the linkage travels through to house the majority of the many long travel linkage configurations that are available for this incredibly competitive ATV.

KFX450
Ray Fay from Fays3 Racing has continued to provide invaluable input regarding many of our products for the state of the art aluminum framed ATV ... the KFX450R. We have made multiple changes to our Frame Plate & its mounting systems as well as improved our bumpers, swingarm plates and many other products thanks to the abuse he put his machine through in an effort to get to the finish line first. While he has struggled with some motor issues he can set a blistering pace when everything is clicking that can abuse even the toughest skid plates(ours).

YFZ450
One of our newest test racers is Josh Rowley and his competitive race crew aboard the tried and proven YFZ450 & now the YFZ450R. This tough crew is helping us to continue improving our skid plate's for these machines which have been updated and improved probably more times than any other skid plates we offer (we never stop until it's perfect), as well as helping to improve many other products. Watch these guys as they work there way through the ranks ... quickly!

DONT SEE YOUR ATV?
If your ATV is not listed in our R&D section rest assured it too has been tested through the rigors of the harsh off road environment. We have probably already had a rider on them in their development stages and are either happy with there performance or they are just not raced as competitively as they once were. From the Honda 250R ATC's (yes, we have been around that long), LT250QR, TRX300EX and even the recreational atv's we have abused them all.
